MGM China’s Kenneth Feng takes helm as new CEO

Macau casino operator MGM China Holdings Ltd has announced a series of senior management changes, marking a leadership transition at one of the city’s major gaming groups. The company confirmed that its long-serving president and chief operating officer Hubert Wang has stepped down with immediate effect, while senior executive Kenneth Feng has been appointed as the new chief executive officer. The changes were disclosed in a regulatory filing and a separate press statement released on 19 December.

In October, MGM China Holdings posted record third-quarter results, driven by robust performance across its mass and VIP gaming segments. The company achieved an all-time high in segment-adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortisation, and rent (EBITDAR) and captured a 15.5 percent market share, according to results released by its parent company, MGM Resorts.

Hubert wang steps down after 14 years

MGM China said Hubert Wang has departed the company to pursue personal aspirations. Wang had been serving as president and chief operating officer and was a key member of the management team for more than a decade.

In its statement, the company said Wang took part in several initiatives that supported MGM China’s growth and development during his tenure. The firm also expressed its appreciation for his 14 years of service. No further details were provided regarding his future plans or the reasons behind his departure.

Kenneth Feng appointed as new CEO

At the same time, MGM China confirmed that Kenneth Feng will assume the role of chief executive officer. Feng previously served as president and executive director of the company.

According to a filing released after Hong Kong Stock Exchange trading hours, Feng has been employed by MGM Resorts International since 2001. During his career with the United States-based parent company, he has held a range of roles covering finance, advisory, strategic, operational and development functions.

His appointment as chief executive of MGM China will run for a fixed term of three years starting from December 19, 2025.

CEO pay and past compensation

The filing stated that Feng will receive an annual gross fixed salary of $1.5 million. In addition, he will be eligible for an annual management bonus. The amount of this bonus will be determined by the company’s remuneration committee and board, based on operating results.

The document also noted that in 2024, when Feng served as president, his total compensation amounted to nearly HKD24.20 million, which is equivalent to about $3.1 million.

Tian Han named COO

MGM China also announced that Tian Han will replace Hubert Wang as chief operating officer. Tian has previously held the role of executive vice president of gaming operations and strategic marketing.

The company said Tian has been with MGM China since before the opening of the MGM Macau property in 2007. He has been involved in managing gaming operations and marketing strategy during the group’s expansion in the Macau market.

Antonio Menano promoted to CLO

Alongside the operational changes, MGM China confirmed the promotion of Antonio Menano to chief legal officer. Menano previously served as executive vice president of legal and general counsel.

Like Feng and Tian, Menano joined the company ahead of the launch of MGM Macau. He has overseen legal and compliance matters as the group expanded its presence in Macau.

Focus on Macau operations

MGM China operates the MGM Macau property on the Macau peninsula and the MGM Cotai resort in the Cotai casino district. In its statement, the company said the new leadership appointments reflect its ongoing focus on strengthening management across its gaming and hospitality operations in Macau.

The firm added that the three executives have led key initiatives over the years that supported the company’s development in the local market.
