DraftKings confirms Missouri sportsbook launch for 1 December

DraftKings Inc. has officially announced that its mobile sportsbook will go live in Missouri on 1 December 2025. The launch follows approval earlier this year from the Missouri Gaming Commission, which granted DraftKings a temporary direct mobile sports wagering licence.

This licence allows the company to operate independently across Missouri without requiring a partnership with a land-based casino or professional sports team. As noted by the company, Missouri will become the 29th state in the United States where DraftKings offers legal sports wagering, joining a list that also includes Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and Ontario, Canada.

What Missouri customers can expect

From 1 December, eligible sports fans in Missouri will be able to access DraftKings’ full suite of betting markets via its mobile sportsbook. Popular features such as same-game parlays, live in-game wagering, special odds boosts, and seasonal promotions will be available. The sportsbook will also integrate a set of responsible gaming tools.

Greg Karamitis, Chief Revenue Officer at DraftKings, said Missouri’s deep-rooted sporting heritage makes the state “an exciting jurisdiction” for the launch. He emphasised that the early winter months offer a particularly vibrant sporting period, with the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), National Hockey League (NHL), college basketball, and college football all in season. According to Karamitis, DraftKings aims to elevate this experience “responsibly” for sports enthusiasts across Missouri.

Additionally, DraftKings has also announced a partnership with the St Louis Blues ahead of the launch of the launch.

Issuance of licences

At the end of October, the MGC issued temporary licences to seven operators, bringing the state closer to the eagerly awaited launch of its sports betting market in December. The licences, approved on 22 October 2025, allow these companies to test their systems, equipment, and operational processes before the official start of betting on 1 December 2025.

The seven operators receiving temporary approval include some of the biggest names in the industry: bet365, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, FanDuel, PENN Entertainment, and Underdog. Liz Hoffman, the Missouri Gaming Commission’s public relations coordinator, confirmed in an email that the temporary licences are intended to help ensure a smooth rollout of the market.

In September, the MGC confirmed that at least nine operators had filed applications for licences before the official deadline of 12 September. Among them were DraftKings and Circa Sports, who secured untethered licences in mid-August. Circa’s win over FanDuel was widely regarded as a surprising decision at the time. Under Missouri law, the MGC may issue up to 19 retail and 14 online sports betting licences, setting the stage for a competitive market when operations officially begin.

Prediction market dispute splits US betting industry

In a separate development, the US sports betting industry is facing a split as FanDuel and DraftKings ended their membership with the American Gaming Association (AGA). On 17 November, both companies confirmed their resignation, according to a report by Jill Dorson of InGame. The decision follows the launch of their sports prediction platforms, FanDuel Predicts and DraftKings Predictions.

FanDuel and DraftKings began as daily fantasy sports platforms before expanding into sports betting. Both companies have long worked with the AGA, which represents regulated gaming operators and shapes national policy. Recently, their focus on prediction markets has created a divide, as these priorities differ from the AGA’s stance.
