Brazilian operator Reals has become the official regional betting partner of AC Milan.
Covering LatAm, the partnership aims to foster deeper fan engagement from both parties across the region.
Rafael Borges, CEO of Reals, praised the Serie A club for its “enormous reach and impact”.
He said: “To my knowledge, considering the betting companies created in Brazil and authorised to operate in the country, this is a pioneering and unprecedented international agreement.
“Through it, Reals takes another important step in consolidating its brand as a reference among the main sponsors in the sports universe and attests to its position as a serious and secure company for bettors.”
The deal looks to increase AC Milan’s visibility and create a ‘long-lasting’ connection with supporters in the region.
The top flight side has held several betting partnerships over the years. Last year, Boomerang also became its official regional betting partner in a deal which covered Europe only.
It has also linked up with the likes of Premier Bet, Leyu Sports, SPRIBE and Sekabet, to name a few.
AC Milan currently sit ninth in the Italian top division, and are set to play Fiorentina at home tomorrow, who sit just one place above.
Maikel Oettle, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Milan, added on the new gambling sponsorship: “We are delighted to have started this collaboration with Reals.
“This exciting partnership marks an important step in our ongoing efforts to expand AC Milan’s presence worldwide. By working with Reals, we aim to strengthen our connection with a crucial segment of our fanbase in Latin America.
“This partnership opens up new avenues for fan engagement and interaction, allowing us to bring the Club closer to both our loyal supporters and new fans.”
The news comes just a few months after the official launch of Brazil’s betting market. Interestingly, recent reports have claimed that nearly a third of the country’s population could be prevented from spending any money in the country’s newly launched gambling market.
Concerns around social responsibility and financial vulnerability prompted Luiz Fux, a member of the Supreme Court of Brazil, to draft protective measures against gambling by people claiming certain state benefits.
