bet365 brings Champions League partnership to London with Arsenal legend Sol Campbell

bet365 brought its partnership with the UEFA Champions League to London over the weekend, where it hosted a ticket giveaway event ahead of this week’s quarter-finals.

The operator, which is the Champions League’s official global betting partner until the summer of 2027, took over Potters Field Park in London by the River Thames for its Big Ticket Giveaway Game on Saturday.

Attendees had the chance to take part in a live odds predictor game which offered winners tickets for the upcoming quarter-final ties, featuring Arsenal vs Real Madrid and Aston Villa vs Paris St Germain

Based on the odds for the fixtures, players were playing for one of six pairs of tickets for the quarter-final ties.

Four pairs of tickets were given away for Arsenal’s tie with the reigning champions tonight, while a further two pairs were given away for Villa’s huge clash with the French champions at home next week.

bet365 Global Deputy Head of Brand Ben Reeves said: “As we approach the most exciting part of our first season as an official global partner of the UEFA Champions League, we wanted to celebrate by bringing our Big Ticket Giveaway Game to life, giving fans the chance to experience the magic of the UEFA Champions League and proving why it’s Never Ordinary at bet365.”

The event marked bet365 giving away over 2,000 tickets to Champions League fixtures throughout its debut season under the partnership.

Throughout the campaign, the operator hosted a ballot on its website giving fans the chance to win free tickets to fixtures across the continent during the new league phase format and subsequent play-off round.

To celebrate this, former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell represented the operator at Potters Field Park. Campbell, who opened the scoring in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in the 2006 UCL final, met with fans for the bet365 event and supported the ticket giveaway.

He said: “There’s nothing quite like the UEFA Champions League.”

“A big congratulations to the whole team at bet365 for putting on such an incredible event and giving real fans the chance to be at some of the biggest games in world football. The whole team has been amazing, and needs a big pat on the back.”

Aside from tickets to the big games over the next week, bet365 gave away Champions League merchandise to other fans who correctly answered four questions, while the UCL trophy was also on location.

Fans had the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the iconic trophy, courtesy of bet365 and its partnership with UEFA.

bet365 PR Operations Manager Jon Riley added: “What an unbelievable day as bet365 brought the magic of the UEFA Champions League to a gloriously sunny location by the banks of the River Thames.

“A huge thank you to Sol Campbell and our hosts Daniyal (Khan) and Katy (Alex), who ensured that everyone who played our Big Ticket Giveaway Game enjoyed an extraordinary experience, and witnessed how as Official Global Partners of the UEFA Champions League, it’s Never Ordinary with bet365.”

SBC News spoke with bet365 at the beginning of the sponsorship agreement, with Reeves outlining some of the strategic benefits of the global deal.

He said: “bet365 has a long and successful football heritage and this prestigious partnership perfectly reflects our brand platform.

“The three-year partnership gives us the ability to reach new audiences globally with immersive activations which includes the Big Ticket Giveaway, a free-to-enter ballot to give away thousands of tickets in select countries.”

Meanwhile, Guy-Laurent Epstein, Director of Marketing at UEFA, added: “As one of the leading online sports betting brands, with over 100 million customers, bet365 is dedicated to enhancing the excitement of sport while promoting responsible sports betting practices.

“We look forward to a successful partnership that not only elevates the experience for our fans but also supports efforts to protect the integrity of the sport.”
