Svenska Spel Strengthens Corporate Communication with Narva

Svenska Spel has announced Narva Communications as its new agency for corporate communications.

With the current agreement being due to expire in 2025, the Swedish state-owned gambling operator initiated a public procurement for services within both communication and public affairs.

Frida Dahlgren, CEO of Narva Communications and Account Manager at Svenska Spel, said: “We are extremely proud that Svenska Spel has chosen Narva as a partner for its group communications. Svenska Spel is one of Sweden’s most well-known brands with an important social mission.

“We look forward to working with them to develop communications and help further strengthen the image of Svenska Spel as a role model for games that are offered in a safe and responsible manner.”

Narva will develop strategic communication support within Corporate Communication, Public Affairs and financial communication, as well as produce annual sustainability reports.

Starting this month, the agreement will run for two years starting with the possibility of an extension.

The news comes as the Stockholm-headquartered communications group celebrates its 25th year of business, though it has been struggling slightly lately from a trading standpoint.

In other news, Svenska Spel has just reported a minor 4% decrease YoY in quarterly revenue as it kicked off FY2025.

January-March net gaming revenue was capped at SEK 1.876m ($172,192), constituting a slight difference when compared to the first three years of the previous year, SEK 1.956m ($179,352).

While minuscule on the outside, Svenska Spel attributed the decline to a major development for Sweden’s land-based industry. This, of course, refers to the operator’s brick-and-mortar Casino Cosmopol properties.

Communications may also be very important for the firm as it continues to navigate Sweden’s market development after re-regulation in 2019. Some statistics show that the market is struggling with some post-regulatory adjustments, some six years on, with a lingering black market presence.

“We received high-quality bids from some of Sweden’s leading agencies in Corporate Communication,” added Andreas Jerat, Head of Corporate Communication at Svenska Spel.

“After a thorough evaluation process, Narva was the agency that received the highest score. They have demonstrated great strategic acumen, strong analytical skills, and a very good understanding of Svenska Spel’s mission and communication needs.”
