Job Requirements / Description
As an Accountant within the Accounting and Reporting function in Finance, you will be expected to prepare and maintain accounting information and assist in the preparation of the group’s financial statements and reports. You will also play a key role in communicating with relevant stakeholders within the organisation.
YOUR CHALLENGE:
- Handling the daily accounting functions, updating data and processing payments as required
- Responsible of preparing monthly management accounts and financial statements and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
- Performing reconciliations for the purpose of data analysis, accuracy and validity
- Preparing statutory reports to both local and foreign authorities
- Assisting senior team members and participating in ad-hoc finance projects
- Monitoring and implementing internal controls
- Eager to contribute towards new initiatives that help improve internal processes
- Assisting auditors in performing their duties
- Any other tasks that may be assigned to you from time to time
TO DO IT, YOU WILL NEED:
- ACCA and/or B. Accty. (Hons) qualified or at the final stages of completing ACCA qualification
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Excellent analytical acumen along with a strong ability to read numbers and figures
- Sound knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Knowledge of Maltese Tax and VAT legislation
- Conversant with standard software packages, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Self-motivated with a determined approach to work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English
- Ability to work both independently and within a team and possessing strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet expected company deadlines
- Be comfortable in a fast-paced and international environmen
